Frequently Asked Questions

1 / Do you take insurance?

We are unable to accept insurance and are out-of-network (OON) with all insurance providers. Some people find their insurance covers OON, and they submit their own superbill.  Please request a superbill, which we are happy to provide. Additionally, you may be able to use your HSA.

*No Surprises Act

2 / Do I have to be in Washington for telehealth?

Yes. Our provider is licensed in the state of Washington. You must be in Washington, and we are legally required to verify location prior to providing telehealth.

3 / Cancellation Policy

Emergencies happen, we get it! Please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance. If there is a no-show 50% will be charged and the second no-show may result in termination.

4 / Do I need a consultation call first?

Not at all! You can request an appointment right away. However, some people want to be able to talk with a provider to determine if they are a good fit.

5 / Do you see children, or provide play therapy?

Our trainings have included play therapy and expressive arts; however, we reserve a specific number in our case load for children. Please schedule a consultation.

6 / Do you offer a sliding scale?

At present, our sliding scale spots are referral only, as are a limited number of pro bono sessions. Please send an email to hello@trailcounselingservices.com if you need financial consideration.

7 / Do you have any openings after work or on weekends?

Weekend and after-hours sessions are limited and subject to availability.
